Sometimes the mechanism needs adjusting ("regulating"). In extreme cases worn-out hammers and broken or defective strings can be replaced. THE KEYBOARD
A beautiful set of keys adds to the enjoyment of playing a piano. Stained and dirty keys can usually be brought back to life by buffing with a specialised cleaner. If keys are significantly damaged, the white key covers can be replaced with now ones.
